Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 European Empowerment Seminar in Kilkenny, Ireland, has been postponed from 23rd – 25th June 2020 to 23nd – 24th September 2020 . The seminar will be hosted and coproduced by MHE’s member Mental Health Ireland.
Every year, MHE supports the organisation of Empowerment seminars for (ex)users of mental health services across Europe. These seminars’ objectives are to bring together experts by experience to learn from each other and increase their participation and meaningful contribution in the decision-making processes of the EU. Through workshops and discussions, participants become better equipped with skills and knowledge how to promote their rights.
More details and the overview of the event will follow in the coming months. In the meantime, we invite persons with lived experience of using mental health services to express their interest to attend the seminar. We strongly encourage users, survivors, persons with psychosocial disabilities and experience of mental ill health to register.
MHE will cover the costs for attendance (travel, accommodation and subsistence) for a limited number of members. Please note: due to a limited budget for this event, we may not be able to accept all applications. We will give priority to representatives from user-led organisations that are members of MHE and will try to ensure a geographic balance.
