At Mental Health Europe, our understanding of mental health recognises that mental distress can be experienced by anyone and may be caused by a series of different factors and life events. Social policies can have an impact on people’s mental health and that is why Mental Health Europe closely monitors and advocates for better European social policies.
Mental Health Europe believes that the European Pillar of Social Rights – the most recent European social initiative – is an opportunity to improve services across Europe that will contribute to preventing mental ill health, promote the wellbeing of millions of people in Europe, and protect people living with mental health problems and psychosocial disabilities.
