EU Commission presents the European Pillar of Social Rights

After a yearlong consultation, the European Commission has presented today the European Pillar of Social Rights under two legal forms : a Commission Recommendation and a proposal for a joint proclamation by the Parliament, the Council and the Commission. The Social Pillar comes with a number of legislative and non-legislative initiatives related to work-life balance, access to social protection and working time. MHE will carefully review these recommendations and initiatives. We will look at them through the lens of mental health and wellbeing and the rights of people living with mental ill health and psychosocial disabilities. In the meantime, MHE welcomes these recommendations and initiatives: it is time for Europe to commit to a more inclusive and fairer Union.
