Why this campaign?

The campaign "Mental Health and Social Inclusion: Making Steps!" has been developed around the finding that stigma and prejudice linked to mental health problems are still widespread. The current situation prevents people from being fully included in the community. Society frequently marginalises people facing mental distresses focusing the attention on non-abilities: these negative perceptions need to be challenged. A more positive approach is necessary in order to promote the social inclusion of people suffering from mental health problems through access to employment, education, quality-care and housing.

Which are the objectives of the campaign?

How does Mental Health Europe disseminate its message?

Mental Health Europe campaign "Mental Health and Social Inclusion: Making steps! I can do it! ...and I have mental health problems!" has been launched on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day 2009 (10 October).

On that day, the campaign poster  has been displayed at the European Parliament. To see pictures of this event, please click here!

The poster is also being disseminated through MHE member organisations all over Europe.

MHE produced a leaflet in order to spread its message.  The leaflet is available in various languages here.

A bookmark with the logo of the campaign is being distributed as well.
