Summary
Mental health care services can have some training problems with the working staff which do not help to improve the impact of social services offered to people with mental health problems. This can lead to a certain extent to some severe situations to manage.
Objectives
- Develop a training package in the field of mental health in order to improve the impact of social services offered to people with mental health problems;
- Develop information, guidance and facilitate exchange of knowledge in the field of mental health;
- Promote the training network in order to inspire lifelong learning among the partner countries.
Activities and outcomes
Activities
1) Develop and test a training course for mental health for a target audience made up of staff working in the field of mental health, representatives of local administration and other institutions, graduates of social science universities, volunteers and mental health service users and their family members.
2) Train 15 trainers from partner countries.
3) Develop tools and methods for assessment, validation and certification.
4) Develop marketing, promotion and awareness campaigns.
Outcomes
1) Develop an extensive training course and training pack for mental health including the following topics: the risk of social exclusion and discrimination, employment, stress management, effective care coordination, social services available, working with mental health problems, motivational interviewing, mental health information for primary care staff, supervision in social care work.
2) Create an electronic international forum of people able to disseminate information and materials in their own countries and other EU and non-EU countries.
3) Train 15 trainers from partner countries able to work in international teams.
4) Involve at least 600 people of the target groups.
5) Set up training centres for mental health in Poland, Czech Republic and Romania.
