ENMESH (European Network for Mental Health Service Evaluation) Conference 2008, - Krakow(Poland)
The 2008 Enmesh Conference will focus on selected research aspects involved in four leading topics.
The key topic is the relationship between the therapist, the patient and the family: this topic pertains to the three entities that take part in the treatment and allows for analytical research from the three perspectives. Another topic is community treatment programs, ranging from comprehensive practice to specific, creative, good practice, in the light of research results. Next, rehabilitation and employment will be discussed, with special attention paid to rehabilitation through work and housing. The fourth topic is coercion and stigma, which pose a special challenge to all professionals engaged in community oriented mental health programs or services.

World Psychiatric Association Thematic Conference, - Granada (Spain)
Depression will be second to cardiovascular disease as a global cause of disability by 2020.
PREDICT is the European Commission 5th Framework Study of the predictors of depression in general practice attendees in six European and one Latin American country.
The results of this ground-breaking research will form the basis of this conference, with the following key objectives:
• To present new data on predictors of depression;
• To debate their significance for health promotion and prevention of depression in family practice;
• To promote inter-professional exchange between mental health and primary care professionals on management of depression and other common mental disorders in family practice.

Ifdm 2008, 4th International Forum on Disability Management, "Breaking down barriers together", - Berlin (Germany)
The first day will start with an overview of disability management as a worldwide political movement. Ministers and other political players will present disability management in their countries on five continents. The second day will be dedicated to companies of various sizes and their needs; working groups will be organised to exchange experiences and good practical solutions. The third day will highlight the requisite consensus among all those involved in disability management; working groups will discuss incentives for joint return to work strategies among the major stakeholders: doctors, rehabilitation services, people with disabilities and their organisations, and insurance companies as competing service providers.
