Mental Health Europe – Santé Mentale Europe (MHE-SME)

Mental Health Europe - Santé Mentale Europe is a European non-governmental organisation committed to the promotion of positive mental health, the prevention of mental distress, the improvement of care, advocacy for social inclusion and the protection of human rights for (ex-) users of mental health services, their families and carers.

Mental Health Europe believes that the burden caused by mental illness for individuals, families and society is too heavy, and that the stigma and taboos are too important to leave mental health development only to politicians and professionals. Mental Health Europe supports the emancipation of different groups in the mental health field in order to establish equal positions between the different parties and to ensure that mental health activities and mental health care really meet the needs of the population.

Vlaamse Vereniging voor Geestelijke Gezondheid (VVGG)

The Flemish Association for Mental Health promotes mental health in Flanders. In order to reach this goal it contributes to scientific support, dissemination of information, focuses on stigma and supports patient organisations. The organisation has several partners at local, regional, Flemish and federal level.

Institut Wallon pour la Santé Mentale (IWSM)

The Walloon Institute for Mental Health (IWSM) deals with missions that are the broadest in order to achieve its aim. The latter are now positioned into four departments: monitoring, support, information and research.

The institute prioritises its tasks according to their relevance to the mental health services, articulating its work with people involved in that field: users and professionals, residential schemes, intermediaries and out patients, mental health experts and participants from the beginning.
